MODULE 01 · LESSON 1
Where does your money actually go?

A budget built on the spending you remember misses the spending that happened. Before you plan anything, you measure.

Measuring means two (2) lists. The first is income. Every amount that arrives in a month, from salary to side work, after deductions. The second is spending, grouped into categories you choose: housing, food, transport, debt payments, savings, and the rest.

The categories matter less than the habit. For four weeks, every amount goes into a category on the day it is spent. At the end, you compare what you thought you spent with what you did.

YOUR PRACTICE THIS WEEK
1List every source of income for last month, after deductions.
2Choose six to eight spending categories that fit your life.
3Log every expense for seven days, the day it happens.
After seven days, how close is the total to what you would have guessed?

IS THIS COURSE FOR YOU?

An honest answer, before you sign up.

It’s for you if
You earn a regular income but can’t say where it goes each month.
You have tried budgeting before and it didn’t last.
You have no emergency reserve, or don’t know how large it should be.
You want a method you can keep using — in any country, in any currency.
It’s probably not for you if
You want someone to tell you what to buy or where to invest. The course teaches methods, not recommendations.
You already run a written budget and hold a full reserve. Course 03 or Course 08 may fit better.
You are looking for a quick fix. The course asks for four weeks of practice with your own numbers.
